Wareham Cycleworks Ltd was established in 2017 by Graham, Paul and Simon.

We had been enjoying working for many years at Cyclexperience so when Ross & Nikki offered us the chance to purchase the Wareham shop we all jumped at the chance.

The bike shop at Wareham Station was originally opened in 2008 as Cyclexperience with Graham as store manager and Paul Hambridge (now owner/director of the awesome Rule 5 bikes) as assistant manager (2008-2012). We were also ably assisted in the early days and couldn't have got open without Simon England's help (now owner/director of equally awesome The London Cycle Workshop). During the next few years we had a few staff members come and go.

Alex Harvey was our second mechanic for a couple of years (2012-2014) and Joe Lander was his replacement and our second mechanic (2015-2017) before he emigrated. Special mentions to our part timers and vacation workers at various times Aaron, Ed, Rob, Sam, Tom & Toby.

Simon came onboard as assistant Manager in 2012 and Paul joined us in 2008 as a part timer before taking the plunge in 2015 and joining full time as our head mechanic.

When Cyclexperience first opened they were offering cycle hire as well as sales and repairs and had a fleet of 30 or so bikes, but transferred as much of the hire as possible to Norden in 2010 when Ian and Nigel started working down there and we reduced the fleet at the Wareham to 10 bikes.

By 2016 the hire was almost completely separated from the retail store and plans were put in motion to allow the staff to buy out the retail store and go it alone.

(Note: Cyclexperience no longer offers bike hire from Wareham as standard (although it is possible to book bikes from them in advance to be delivered to our store as a collection point from Cyclexperience).

We would like to thank all those who have helped us along the path to get us where we are, in particular Ross & Nikki for believing in us for so long and offering us this opportunity and lastly but most importantly our amazing customers (that's you!) who continue to support us and come back time and again.
